Voodoo Vs Rendition please comment !

I have just upgraded my system to include Stealth 2100 Rendition and
Voodoo1 cards and was  comparing the 2 cards in different 3d apps.

Does anybody out there in this group notice the  darker and much more
grainy image that Stealth 2100 gives compared to 3DFX Voodoo.
I've heard it mentioned on here so many times that Rendition image
quality is better which i find  to the opposite.
GP2 and ICR2 have no graininess  and everything else that i have tried
has this horrible grainy dark look......Quake1, Quake2,  GPL.

I'm not really worried about Quake1 and 11 but GPL  must look better than
than that. The Voodoo image is really clear and has no graininess.

Is there anybody out there that has compared the image quality in GPL.
The Stealth 2100 is great for GP2 due to built in VESA 2.0 support and i
really like the card in Windows.

Can anybody shed some light on this ?

I have both a StealthII and Voodoo1, I use the voodoo1 instead of the
Rendtion cuz I didnt like that grainyness either. Does anyone know if the
V2200 has the same image quality? Is this just a V2100 bug or something?

I have a Stealth II myself, and I don't recognize your description of the
image quality at all! First of all: GPL looks almost identical on Rendition
and Voodoo! If it doesn't, there must be something wrong with your graphic
card drivers... Are you sure you are using rendition hardware acceleration? I
bet not!

When it comes to Quake and quake 2, the OpenGL-versions ARE dark, also on the
voodoo cards. The rendition Q2 renderer is quite light, looks very good (crisp
and clear) and is quite fast actually! It even has a possibility to set
hardware antialiasing (not existant on voodoo) The rendition version of quake
1 is fast, and has a very nice image quality. The GL versions look the same

Yes I am using the rendition acceleration with anti aliasing turned on, duh.
And Stealth II drivers I tried were 1.06 and 1.10, the two latest versions.
Maybe you are not using the latest voodoo drivers? hehehe Though some people
sware the rendition image quality is better, yea it looks sharper but I
perfer the voodoo smoothness over the rendition.

GP2 and ICR2 do not use 3d cards, they were writen before the 3DFX boom.
