N4 Locks Up in OpenGL at the menu!

by pw » Mon, 19 Mar 2001 13:44:38

Hi,

I can't believe I just bought a wheel for this unstable and buggy
product (on my system)! What a dunce!

It will not work with OpenGL on my system (no matter what the color or
rez)!  It will lock up in the menu.  For instance, it just locked up
while calibrating my wheel.  It locked up in various parts of the menu
before I had the wheel (in OpenGL).

At least with D3D I can **sometimes** finish a race!

Specs:

Athlon 700
GeForce 2 GTS Pro (64Mb DDR)
256MB RAM
Win98SE
Direct X 8.0a
NVidia 6.5 Drivers

Thanks,

-paul

What motherboard do you have? I just built my brother a system with a Tyan
m/b and was having the same problem. What I did to fix it was to get in the
BIOS and disable 4x AGP and now it works. Will_H#24

Thanks - I don't think my MB allows  4X AGP, just 2X.  It is an Athlon
Gigabyte.

How did you disable 4X AGP, by the way?  Is there a setting
specifically for it?

In the BIOS there is a setting for AGP 4x and the only choices I have are
enabled or disabled using the page up page down key. Will_H#24

No such option for me.  A friend and myself just checked and couldn't
find any setting like that.

Thanks.
