Will a Verite card hurt GP2 performance?

Will the use of a Verite card (in my case, 3D Blaster), hurt GP2 SVGA
frame rates, everything else being equal? . I'm moving up from a Trio 64
card. I read with some trepidation, the very poor performance of the
Verite's VGA performance and was kind of worried since I play GP2 a lot.
I've heard wonderful things specifically with regards to the Mystique
and GP2, but I figure I will enjoy (resurect) ICR2-3D (especially with
the new sounds) and am awaiting Psynogsis F1 which requires hardware
3-D, which the Mystique isn't so great at. One other thing, is the
Verite really that much slower in 2-D (normal) Windows (eg, MSOffice,
Photoshop etc.)  then say, the Mystique?

Thanks for a reply,

Stanley Chan

So I buy a Rendition card to play Indy II. That's good. But  Also
there's all the hype that there will be all of these rendition based
games, blah, blah, blah. So where are they? At this point unless there
is a specific game you play alot there is little reason to get a 3 D
card. Does anyone know of a list out there of all of the various
permutations of cards and software supported?

The Verite won't be the F1 flagship it was supposed to be, but it is
supposed to make it into the program...eventually.

Quite a few said the same as you back in September...Since then, I've
clocked several hundred hours of ICR2-3D, N2, Whiplash, Monster
Truck Madness, Quake, and a few others, and never regretted having
a Rendition card on my system.

If you have the cash, go out and get a card  - or wait for the new
Hercules
128v with the Voodoo chip (which should be soon).  Waiting a few months
to see what happens will do two things:

1) You'll miss-out on some of the enhanced versions of the programs you
   may now already enjoy.

2) Put back into a possition of "I'll wait a few months to see what
happens".

Things change all the time, it's just one of the factors of the PC market.

Best Regards,

Marc
