When I qualify for Talladega, I am always put at the last position even
though I got a better speed by 15 mph. At first I thought it was
because my restrictor plate was off, but even when I put it back on, I
was still last when I came in first. Any suggestions to help me???
Thanks

Are you doing both qualifying laps, for a total of three including the
warm-up lap?

Patrick,

Once you qualify, exit and save the race weekend. Then when you
reload it, you'll be on the pole.

This may sound silly, but my brother was having rhe same problem and the
solution was simplicity itself: Talledega requires TWO completed
qualifying laps before it will place you in the field. Only finish one,
and you'll be sent to the back of the pack...no matter what sort of speed
you posted.

Taladega qualifying requires two laps. Don't stop until you see the
checkered flag.

You make 2 laps at Talladega for qualifying and you have to finish all the
laps until you get the checkered flag to finish qualifying.  If you don't ,
you will be put at the end of the line no matter how fast your first lap
was because you didn't take them both.
