ICR2/CART controller problem

by Matthew D. Sulliv » Tue, 27 Apr 1999 04:00:00

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any input on this problem:

I have the DOS version of CART racing installed on a Windows 95
machine (due to the bugginess of the Win95 version).  I have a Gravis
gamepad I would like to use as a controller (I know, very less than
ideal, but bear with me).  The gamepad will calibrate fine in Win95,
but when I exit to DOS and run CART, I cannot get the game to
recognize it to calibrate, even after deleting the calib.val file.
When I choose calibrate within the game, I get no response, just a
range of -1 to 1 with no pointer.  I have ensured that the joystick is
toggled on with the J key.

Anyone?

Probably either your Gravis won't work in a dos enviroment,
or your soundcard port is not active in dos.  If you have a PnP
soundcard, you may have to load dos drivers to get it to work in
a dos session.
  Good luck

ICR2/CART controller problem

Just a thought, but probably ICR2 only supports normal analog joysticks.
The Gravis Gamepad is a digital controller, no?  Depending on its age, it
might also be Windows only.

Buy a cheap analog joystick, you will thank yourself.
