There is a Driver-demo to be found in the german PC-Games computer
magazine, issue 09/99. It is glide-only.

Is it non-official, too?
Checked it out only for some minutes last night, comments maybe later,

The Glide only one is NON official.
The Official one will also support D3D.

How did it make it onto a magazine's "official" CD-ROM, then?

It's a marketing plot to increase the word of mouth between the people who
have it and the people who don't.

Remember that you saw the "un-official" demo released about the same day as
the Microsoft Midtown Madness one, so they tried to take all the attention
on the competition.  And it worked (from what I see on news sites,
newsgroups and so, the hype has been created).

Just the fact that people say that its the "beta", but it has a timer (who
the heck beta test with a time limit ? Absurd), shows that all this was made
on purpose by GTI Interactive.

Wow the super genius is right for once. ;-)
This was my thought playing it last night, a tester would be expected to play
the thing for hours on end, not a minute...add to the fact it says "Demo Chase"
on it and has a preview screen saying what it will be included in the full
version...although I would have liked a readme with it so I could use hood-cam
right away.
Oh yeah the files that are from July in some of the directories really don't
seem to be 4 months old to me, or else it would almost be my birthday...

Oh well, I have it and you don't Frank...na-na-na-na-na-nah!  That's what you
get for your vactation. ;-)

Why were all the sites asked to have it pulled OFFLINE then?
Just because the CDROM is official from the mag, doesnt mean all the
stuff contained on it is "official". It can be simple marketing ploy
from GTI for starters.
