Using T2, P200, 32Mb, 3DBlaster and Righteous 3D, AWE32.

Haven't turned all graphics to full as the framerate stutters (and the
sound along with it) as it is!  Anyone got a cure?
If this is the best we can expect for 'serious' 3Dfx race sims I'm glad
I kept the Rendition.  ICR2 looks (and runs) better, N2 is in a
different league.

Feels like joystick input to me (dead around centre) as opposed to
Papy's excellent linear steering options.  Bad for fine control.  Again,
if you know how to set a wheel up with this...

I can't judge the 'feel' of the car as I can't handle the way the game
deals with the T2.

Awful dash, but at least the view is available and it doesn't have one
of those ridiculous self animated (or even completely stationary!)
steering wheels.

Cars look laughable.  Which is a damn shame as it makes the game so much
harder to take seriously.  They actually remind me of a cross between
that old (Atari AFAIK) arcade unit, Road Blasters and those little cars
that you put in a cartridge, loaded into a rifle, and shot across the
floor (wish I could remember what they were called - mine glowed in the
dark!).  And the setup screen put me off my lunch.  Far too much for me
to take in one bite.
For some reason, I just can't seem to get away with an attempt at a
serious simulation of fantasy auto racing.  Simulating fantasy... It's a
concept I have difficulty with.  Sorry.  Just me, I guess.

I -wanted- to like this so much as I love the Papy stuff and hate to
rely on one softco to get my fix (I want GPL now!!).  I don't think it's
my cup of tea, but I'd like to try it again if someone knows how to stop
that juddery framerate/sound and get 'proper' T2 support.

The feel is awful, when the car gets loose, it feels like the hole car
moving to that direction and not just the rear.

And one of the funniest thing I did is bumped up the DOWNforce
to the fullest, and now I didnt even have to use BRAKES
for cornering at Mid Ohio.

And yes, I have all options set to Realistic.

The cars do look UGLY, but the FEEL is more important for me,
so if they can just fix that.

MARK:

Pretty much your setup but a P166mmx. I didn't have any hick-ups with the
stock settings. I added some more card 10-12 and everything was still good. I
took evertything to the max and it did get noticeably choppy. It's not as
smooth as Indy 2 only Motoracer is.

My Gp1 worked fine with this game, the handling was pretty good. I felt the
car oversteered when turned heavily (probably to compensate amatuers)
hopefully this can be adjusted out in the garage. I was happy with the overall
feel. It's probably not better than N2, I'm hoping for near as good.

At first I was all dash view which is ok, until I messed with other angles. I
actually enjoyed the ground angle which is close to the dash perspective but
full screen. This really got the game moving. I hate 3rd person views total
loss of feel.
