ACM Gamecard and PNP souncard ports?

by Stanley Cha » Sat, 19 Apr 1997 04:00:00

Hi

If I combine the two, will I be able to disable the joystick port on the
soundcard outside of W95? I know it will be disabled within the OS, but
since there isn't a jumper, will there be a conflict if I boot straight
into DOS first?

Thanks

Hi Stanley,
You can combine the two and the ACM will work fine in DOS. The
is in Win95. It will auto recognize the joystick port on your soundcard.
There are instructions on Thrustmaster's internet site about various
methods to try to disable the port in 95. None of the suggested methods
worked on my system. So either buy a non-PNP soundcard which will allow
you to jumper the joystick off or just run everything from DOS. Isn't
Win95 great!! Yea right.           Steve
