Hi,

i think of buying a rendition card as well, when the ones bundled with
icr2-3d are available in europe.
BUT: what is the difference between pci 2.0 and 2.1 compliance, because
i'm not sure whether my motherboard supports pci 2.1. i am sure the
board supports bus-mastering.
is there a huge difference in performance between pci2.0/pci2.1?? or is
it more like you get some more performance with 2.1. or, do the cards
only work with pci 2.1??

thanks in advance,

As long as your slots are 2.1 PCI-compliant and support bus-mastering,
a Rendition card could provide an affordable performance boost.  Many
of the Rendition Ready games, like the versions of ICR2 and N2, are
SVGA only.  As such, they probably will not run too smoothly on a 486.

I want to get a rendition card but I only have a 486/133 (AMD) w/ 24 megs
mem..
The box says it requires a Pentium.  Is that only because
it needs a PCI slot? and are they just saying that because most 486's
don't
have PCI slots?

I have 2 PCI slots open so if thast's the case, it looks like I could get
one.

Thanks
