And he claims to have done it in qualifying.  Must've taken off restrictor
plate

Assuming you still have the restrictor plate on, I don't think you COULD have
a 199 lap.  That might have been your top speed.  With a restrictor plate,
NASCAR says the maximum possible speed is something like 204.  (running
the balance between acceleration and blowing the engine.)  I've never gotten
N2 over 202.  To run a 199 lap, you'd have to run 202 to 204 all the way down
the straights, and only scrub off 5 or 6 mph in the turns.  I usually run 200
to 201 by the END of the straight, and drop to 191 or 192 through the turns,
for an average lap in the high 48's.  (195-196 mph, as stated above.)

I've run 206 at the end of the straights, with the lap turning about 197.1xx.
This is with the Tally AI upgrade from CCG AI Improvement site.  Also changing
the RELS and BLAPS values to what was recommended (I think something like 114
and 50750).

Of course, this is with a full ten to twelve cars drafting down the back
stretch, which is what the CCG update is all about.

Running 199 Laps at dega is possible in certain conditions.  Temp at 40
deg and in a good draft with a human driver.  You can get over 210 on
the backstretch if drafting properly...

Sorry to disagree, but 48.97 on my computer is approx. 195-196 mph.
I have never run a lap of 199 in any race!

Stay tuned, we should be releasing a "New & Improved" Talladega AI that
will make our old one look as bad as Papy's original did! <G>
