ICR2 - Not Too Shabby!

There has been quite a few murmers in this NG about putting the GPL physics
into a modern day Grand Prix or Indy car sim.

To start with the cars of today are heavily reliant on aerodynamics and
downforce, unlike the GP cars of '67 which though streamlined had no
aerodynamic grip.

The main point of this mail is that papyrus already have a really good sim
in ICR2/CART, I have had it for three years but have only recently really
started getting into it as my old puter was a bit stretched by it's demands.
From my point of view it is pretty close to GPL (no, I havn't driven a 1967
GP car or a modern day Indy Car before everyone starts bleating!) in
realism, of course the handling is differant and you can't practice
cartwheels (excuse the unintended pun) but with GPL it is about as close you
can get to the real thing (I think).

Actually there is no point to this e-mail, I just think ICR2 has stood the
test of time and shouldn't be ignored as a damn good sim quite yet.

I would like to have a sim with F1 cars from the 70's (or early 80's) with wings, big
tires and no ground effects. I think the cars would feel more stable than GPL, but you
could still slide them around.
Oh, and yes ICR2 is still the best CART game, but if you can improve it ,then why not.
