NASCAR & Matrox Millenium

NASCAR & Matrox Millenium

Has anyone switched to this card and use the version of NASCAR Racing
adapted for this card?  If so, does it make a big difference in
performance?  As someone stuck in VGA, 6 ahead/2back, 2 heard and
absolutely no textures (except for cars) on, I would like to know of
all possibilities in improving frame rate.

BTW, did Matrox or Papyrus produce the special version of NASCAR
Racing designed to take advantage of the 3d-accel. features of the
Millenium?

Thanks,

Bill.

I just ordered a Gateway p133 and it comes with the Millenium card,
but, not Nascar Racing. I was wondering those same questions myself.
I was also wondering where I can purchase this "version" of Nascar
or is there just some add on drivers for the original game available.
Any comments, performance tips, info, etc. would be much appreciated.

I purchased a Matrox Millenium off the shelf, and it came with a software
coupon for a CD that contained Asymetrix 3D F/X, the special version of Nascar
Racing, a Software MPEG player, and other utils.  I faxed the coupon to
Matrox, so maybe you could ask them.

The enhanced version is a complete piece of ***IMHO nothing but a
marketing gimmick.

The fps difference is hardly deteactable to the eye in SVGA mode.
Apparently only the road is hardware assisted in texture mapping
eveything else is normal

They (I dunno Papyrus or Matrox or somebody else) could've done
LOTS more but didn't
