N1, MTM, and now N2 joystick prob

Hi people! I was wondering if anybody has had the same problem as me...

I ran N1 and MTM for a few months with a $10 joystick and everything was
fine. After that the cars and trucks started jumping to the right for no
reason (tried all the calibration stuff). I got pissed and didn't play those
games much after that. It was just too damn annoying to jump up 2 lanes at
Tally while going 205mph. Instant wreck. So for Christmas I got a Cyclone3D
joystick, Nascar2, and the BGN pack. I have also changed my sound card to a
Sound Blaster16 since then. I play N2 almost every night.

So now I'm getting the jumping joystick thing again (tried all the
calibration stuff). I've heard that the Cyclone sucks, but this just started
yesterday and it's getting worse QUICK. I have all the latest patches for
N2.

It doesn't appear to happen in the calibration programs, and I don't really
have any other programs that use a joystick. I got rid of MTM a long time
ago.

I guess my question is this- Am I wearing out joysticks or what? Has anybody
been through this?  Any suggestions?

thanx!
