Best inexpensive joystick for N1?

by ~Spyde » Sat, 22 Mar 1997 04:00:00

I am getting blown away using my keyboard, but am on a college
budget... anyone have an idea which would be the best relatively
inexpensive joystick I could get to improve my times?
Would prefer either something common everywhere or something that
could be bought off WWW...
        Thanks for your time...

You can get a Gravis at Wall Mart for under 16 dollars. I used mine heavy
for two years before I wore it out, it still works its just real jerky and
cleaning doesn't cure the problam.

Very happy with the Gravis stick. User can adjust the tension.
Don't remember how much I spent.  Probably less than 50 bucks.

After killing off my Suncom (?) stick, I tried the joypad that
came with it.  That really wasn't too bad.  (Better than keyboard).
The wheels/pedal prices are coming down, but still too much for my
2 hour/week "sunday drives".

Best inexpensive joystick for N1?

I personaly use the original (not the pro) CH Flightstick.
Had some pretty fair success with it in the few races ran competetivly
last year. Since hooked it up through the CH Pedals I picked up I am
running races like never before. In fact just had a personal win in
NAS97 at Darlington with 102% opponents. Paid 70 for the stick when
they first came out (think is 30-40 bucks now) and around 50 for the
pedals. Works great through the port on SB16 sound card.

Hope this helps.
