N1 Talladega Joystick to Loose!

by James Langevin-Frieso » Thu, 08 May 1997 04:00:00

Hi All,

I've tried about a million different setups for Talladega that I've got
all over the web.  Every setup I try is always to loose for me not to
jerk around in all turns.  I average about high 192's every lap.  I've
tried my own setups there but have only had a little success.  I go in
turns (1+2 about 185-) and three and four about 186+ but I since my
setup is so darn tight I just toast the tires on the last turn.  I don't
have this problem on any other track...I'm just looking for a very tight
setup (and I mean tight!) that will get me throw the last turn without
even making a scratch from the tires ...if that's possible.  All my
friend's have joysticks and don't have this problem, so what could it
be?...I am very fast on every track and race at 100% ai saving the tires
a good 5 laps past the ai.  My joystick calibrates just great and is not
'jerky' on any other track.  I try as hard as I can to keep the from
jerking but it just happens on every turn except for the odd lap.

My best lap is somehting like 195 with restrictor and 221.9xx without
But my friends do 200+ plus, and I know it's not my line because I'm
just fine without the restrictor plate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance!

Possible problems:
Too much lock.
Controller set to be a wheel - joystick too sensitive at centre.
Digital joystick.
Too aggressive with movements - you've gotta be -real- smooth here, try
turning in earlier and gentler.
