GPL Sys Requirements

Hi All.

Can anyone tell me if this machine will run GPL ok?
I've never played GPL, having been 3D deprived up until now.

PIII550
128mb
16mb Voodoo 3 2000
SB Live sound card

I ordered this machine today and now I'm wondering if it has the
right hardware for GPL to run at it's best. If it can be
improved there's still time to change the order.

Thanks

Nick

It will run GPL just fine. In my experience GPL and the V3 card were made
for one another plus that P3 gives you the CPU oomph (to use the technical
term:) ) to run full fields. Throw a decent internet connect into that
machine (no Winmodems!) and you'll be set for racing against the other
Aussies and the rest of the world at VROC.

Should run great right out of the box. If you don't have one already, look
into a wheel and peddle setup, check out the force feedbacks also. Head to
The Pits and start reading, there are loads sites pertaining to this sim
with all sorts of addons, enhancements, etc.
Say goodbye to your family and friends,  your life is about to change.

That thing should be awesome...the only thing I can think of is you may want
to up the V3 2000 to a 3000, considering that the price difference is not
that much...but that should be awesome, I run it really darn good on a
Celery450a with a Voodoo2 and a AWE64 ISA card.

Wonder what machine it would take to get great frame rates off a full grid
with the highest resolution?

I run a similar system, except I have the Voodoo3/3500 and would recommend
the 3000 upgrade.

in GPL there is no fps difference between 2000 and 3000.

If that happens (lowering Resolution is similar to overclocking the
card--you gain fillrate), it means that you are CPU limited.
