Yup. Shut down any extraneous TSR's, run the V2 at 95mhz, and it does well.
You can't max the settings out, but it's still pretty spiffy.

If you go out and get an 8mb Herules Thriller Rendition card you should
be able to run GPL pretty well (i.e decent framerate with 5 AI cars and
some graphic concesions), although it should be mentioned that a
rendition card isn't well-supported in most other games.
