Linked play and Joystick problem

by Paul Marti » Tue, 24 Sep 1996 04:00:00

Anyone had a problem with controlling the car with a joystick while playing
a linked game? 95% of the times I've played it linked my joystick seems to
make random deflections to the left, making it impossible to steer
properly. Any suggestions on how to overcome this would be great.

I've only really noticed it with Direct Link Play (mostly because modem
play is Slow Mo) and I've tried all communication combinations, it's
totally random.

What on earth is all that ***on your message ??

Anyway to my point, I had the same problem until I stoped playing in
Windows 95, and used good old DOS, plus as I have a Diamond Edge,
I stoped using its Digital joystick port,(and deleted the RM.exe Module
from its Special DOS session ICON)  and resorted to my AWE port. Problem
solved.

He's using Microsoft News as his newsreader, it puts HTML at the end of the
message. It's a known problem with MS News. I don't know if I can be disabled.
The best solution is to not use it, so Microsoft doesn't get the chance to
create another 'standard' we don't need.
