I read somewhere, either in last month's PC Gamer (UK) or PC ***

<Conspirasy theory>
Is this a evidence that the physics model is not good enough and canned ?
The great FF in GPL is a direct cause by the tire-model, so if it's not going
to be in GP3, maybe their tire-model is not good enough ?
</Conspirasy theory>

Anyway, this is really sad news since I'm spoiled with my MSFF and GPL with
Slotcar_GTX's (I got it right this time? :) settings.

See another post by mine. There is almost 4 months left untill release,
so 2 months to add features doesn't seem like streching it.

I can't possibly imagine that GP3 won't have FF, that would be
ridiculous...

Nopes, Geoff might now, but Hasbro Interactive will. I'm not sure if you
know Rollercoaster Tycoon? That game also has a big following and was the #1
selling game in the world. There have been made some editors for it and as
soon as a new editor was released, Hasbro made a new patch (or just changed
the version #) to prevent the use of the editor. Hasbro doesn't really like
people toying around with their code and I suspect the same will happen to
GP3 as to RCT...At least it's a logical conclusion when you look at the
ATARI games case (sorry, can't really explain it, since I don't know enough
about it, but I'm sure others will be able to help us here) and
RollerCoaster Tycoon.

I hope it's not like this, but Hasbro doesn't have a good track record when
it comes to this kind of stuff...

You figure crammond still uses words like vga and svga, you think he
knows what force feedback is?

One of the biggest letdowns for me, while watching the GP3 video,
was the omission of that bump at *** square. The video did show
some elevation changes, but they seemed very minimal compared
to GPL.
Damn you GPL, you've ruined all other sims for me!!

Hmmm.

When people can personally code a sim that comes close to even SOS, maybe
they will be qualified to stand in judgement!

GPL raised the bar. It's up to the other sims to clear it and subsequently
raise it again for others to cut their teeth on. This way we get better and
better simulations. The problem lies with the relatively small following GPL
has, which leads the corporate types to think their sim can ignore the
standards it set.

That being said, they probably worked on that bump a little since the era
simulated in GPL. ;-)

Oh right, I see what you mean there.
But thats hardly moelling every bump witha totally 3d road is it? Its just
the obvious stuff, heck, most new games have that bump at Monaco and so
on....
