I have an old(?) Act-labs force RS with shifter and with the three sims
I've raced with it (GPL, N4, RT) I have to agree 100% with the West's...
It's not good enough yet to be anything more then a novelty.

After tweaking and tweaking I could not bring my self to getting in to
the sims.  In fact I'd say it took away more then it gave.  Any case, I
ended up going back to my home made rig.  Maybe in another five years FFB
systems and software will be usable(?).

Just my opinion on FFB

Not really, you are implying that this is a bad thing. It's not.

Your mouse has moved. Windows must be restarted for the change
to take effect. Reboot now?

Damn it, I said I wasn't going to argue the point ;)!

I think it would be hard to argue that any FFB so far could be said to
model 100% of the feedback a driver is going to feel in RL (real life,
not racing legends!), but clearly *some* amount of the vehicle
dynamics can be communicated to the driver in a good FFB setup.  GPL
was the first to show what's possible, and I think F1-2001/2 have to
be considered king of the hill right now - have you actually seen the
sheer number of adjustable factors that ISI use to generate FFB
effects?

Remember that the West's made that comment some time ago.  If they're
still sticking to it today, I think it's the kind of tunnel vision
that will help make sure WRL never sees the light of day.

Hell, could you imagine a "Rally Legends" sim without good FFB?

<snip - a bunch of corporate brainwashing>

I hope for the sake of humanity that the Wests, and others like them,
succeed. Once the world is like you see it, nothing will be worth being here
for.

Got any thing to say about how they might actually succeed without the help
of nothing vendors?

So people who buy a Ferrari for 100k are suckers because they buy a ferrari
for 100k instead of a Ford Fiesta for 7k?

Apples and oranges dude. Ford Fiestas are commuter cars, Ferraris are
collectable cars. A car simbe it bad, good or great, is a car sim. Just
because you want to overpay for a computer program and some sensable people
are calling the Wests on this certain bankruptcy move, don't mean you gotta
reach for justification. Just say, 'Its worth it to me' and let everyone
else go their own way.
