After a fast download, everything installed perfectly, and functioned
beautifully!
This sim will be the landmark of those to come for a while. I can only
dream of what the guys at Papyrus are thinking of next....
The Physics are amazing, the "feel" is extreme. It is just how I wanted
it; not to difficult if you are going slowly, but demands 100%
concentration when going fast.
I race in Real Life As Well, and, guys, it's getting pretty darn
close.....

I tend to get caught out by myself trailbraking (a bad habit carried
over from GP2, N2, ICR2), which does'nt work to good:))
Even my diehard "anti-computer-games" dad, who was spectating those
years, was very impressed. His only complaint was the engine sound at
low RPM, it sounded like a US V8. But judging from my "Grand Prix" vinyl
album, hi rpm sounds pretty good!
I managed to get the car "caught" on the barriers once, the left front
"disappeared", and I was stuck...but, I am planning to stay on track!

All I can say is; I am getting this sim, I might even buy 2!

Heck, to hell with the world for a day...:))

Are these actually the final sounds, or are they still just "placeholders"?

p.s. I'm at 87% download now :-)

Well I've not been impressed by the demo so far due to a LARGE number of
problems (probably with my own computer setup). However, if the Doc says
its good- its good! :)

I agree with the above opinions -- this is a GREAT job and a real step
forward in racing sims. The driver's arms are not hokey at all -- they
really add to the feeling. However, it looks like it'll take me a long time
to be any good at this one; were these cars really this slippery-handling on
the tracks of those times?? Maybe I'm over anxious, but just making it
around one lap is an accomplishment right now!

It is running perfectly on my PII-233 with a Monster 3D, except that my son
just had a problem when he took over the computer from me (i.e., pryed the
joystick from my grasp) and inserted a CD to run one of his games. The
machine locked up in a strange way and we had to press reset to get it going
again. No way to tell if it's related to having run the demo, but I'll watch
to see if it happens again.

Those are the same sounds from the avi, which are placeholders. Those
are the engine sounds from Nascar so thats why it sounded like a US V8.

No....they have been taken from N2.
Remember that what we have here is a pre-alpha appetiser!
But it is the BEST pre-alpha demo that I have ever enjoyed.

Yup:)What kind of problems do you have? For me this was my first non
"Plug & Pray" experience, everything worked at once...
I am running  a 200MMX, 64 Edo Ram, An Iris 3D Mania (4 MB) coupled to
an ATI 2MB 2D card, and a T2 wheel.

If there are any probs, please post them here, I'm sure somebody will be
able to help:))

Cheers,
Matt

They certainly were.  Plenty of horses that kicked in with a bang. No
downforce.
I've found that the wheel/pedal combination has to be PERFECTLY
calibrated and set up so that any pressure on the accelerator is smooth
and even.

I too think this sim ROCKS!!!! And the arms are way-cool.  But...I also lock up
after exiting the sim.  I just get a black screen with a movable mouse pointer
and I have to reboot?  Anyone know why? I'm running a P200 with Screamin 3D.
     Thanks,
