Well, to start with: as I told you, I played it for a couple of hours
so far. And that is very promising, considering that Test drive 6 and
***'s V8 Challenge didn't last longer than 5 minutes on my HD :)
It's an arcade driving game, feels much like Grand Turismo on the
Playstation. When I started my first lap, I though the game was
absolutely not playable with my LWFF, the sensitivity of the steering
was way too high. Back to the options screen, and thankfully there was
a sensitivity and deadzone slider for both x and y-axes.
I adjusted the x sensitivity (put it on 50%) and the steering was
perfect.
First of all, I was surprisingly pleased with the force feedback. Very
strong, very good ffb. There is one force, when revving too high I
believe, which gives a force I never had before in any other racing
game. The lwff starts making a loud humming noise, very weird.
Anyway, the tracks are beautiful, the feeling of speed is great and
the AI is (so far) a worthy opponent, even on novice level.
A very nice effect is the changing of daytime into nighttime.
I had some really fun races, and after my first win I got the same
feeling after an exciting GPL race (I had to mention GPL somewhere in
this review :).
All in all, so far I like it very much. I didn't expect much from
Lemans, expected it to be a simple arcade game, but it's really a very
fun racing game!
