HID device: 3 axis, 8 button joystick

by GMpartsgu » Sat, 20 Apr 2002 08:44:51

Since upgrading my mobo and processor, i have been unable to get my original
TM Pro Digital to configure as an HID device properly. Im also running the
original Win98 (non SE), and had never had a problem getting the comp to
recognize the wheel as the 3 axis, 8 button joystick. Anyone else running a
TM wheel in this manner ?
I cant remember if Win98 installed it as a separate HID device, or stuck it
under Game Controllers, etc.. I never had luck with the drivers that TM
shipped with the wheel. ( i bought it the day it came out). I remember the
wheel having a dead spot in the middle when using the shipped drivers. I was
able to config it as the HID and never looked back :)
I have d'loaded the latest (or final) drivers for it, but i dont want to
bother installing them if im just gonna have the same ol dead spot that
pizzed me off a couple years ago. Anyone running these drivers know if TM
ever killed the dead spot ? I just rebuilt the wheel before upgrading the
computer, so i hate to give up on it quite yet. God knows i got my moneys
worth from the wheel, but i got the pedals stiffened up the way i like em
dammit. HELP.
Fix my junk, and ill give ya an 83 Corvette !!!!
 Thanks fer listening, BB
