Converted GPL (or any) tracks

by Jan Koh » Sat, 27 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I will say this once, and only once, do NOT request for converted tracks on this newsgroup.  If you are not familiar with piracy laws, it is illegal to post anything
which contains copyrighted code from a software company, posting the full
tracks does break this law, *internationally*, because most countries support
US Copyright Codes.

We provided these converters for racers to get more enjoyment from current racing sims that they own, NOT to proliferate software piracy and copyright infringments.  We at The Pits do run No Piracy Network, and we (and other NPN sites) do actively take part in enforcing copyright laws.

Do the right thing...buy the games.  ICR2 and N2 can be bought now for almost a song, and N99 is not far behind.  If you live in a foriegn country, try 4cds.com for international orders.  It amazes me that people will spend $200+ dollars on a wheel/pedals, $150 for a 3d card, $80 for a sound card, and then want people to give them a $10 game for free.

If you are unfamiliar with copyright and piracy laws...you can be forgiven just this once.  However, you now should take the time to visit NPN (http://www.racesimcentral.net/) to get the full scoop.

Cheers!

So when is some capitalist gonna post a site where I can buy the durned
software?

How come the said software companys dont set up a site where we can pay
10 bucks to download the track files?

I gotta go the the mall and hope I can find the right game?

Thanks for the new track editor though, nice work.

Lewis, that is a VERY good idea, and I'll bring it up with Papy and see if
there is any way we can do that.  Of course they're problably not going to
go for N99/N2 games just yet (can still get money out of those), but maybe
N1/ICR2 tracks!

I'll do a little work and see what we can come up with... ;]

Cheers!
