Second Install of GPL Converted Track Screws Up Track Screen

by Jim Moor » Thu, 01 Apr 1999 04:00:00

I ran the ICR2-to-GPL converter a second time to fix the flagman.  Now
when entering either Loudon or Phoenix, the track screen shows Monza
info.  The race distance and track lengths are reported correctly, but
the replica program and "grand prix of..." info are all for Monza.  The
flagman is now fixed.  However, when I toggle through the tracks to
start a session, I now have three Monzas.

Any ideas on how to correct this?

Thanks,

Jim

Hmm... I was about to do this, too. But maybe delete the Loudon and
Phoenix (and any other converts) directories in the GPL\Tracks directory
before running the converter again...

I've done the same thing (ran the original, then a week later ran
the revised version over it to fix the flagman) and I don't have this
problem.  The programs are black with just the track/GP name on them,
and inside is blank (where the large version of the track map would
be).  Weird.

Make sure that you have all the patch files in the same directory as the converter .exe
file.
There ought to be a bunch of Phoenix.* files and NwEnglnd.* files.
The only other possibility I can think of is low disk space, but you'd have to be very
low.

You're right here, Dave, that seems to be the secret. I went back to having
no converted tracks, killed the new directories, killed the entries from
67season.ini and gp.ini and then reconverted. Now I have the new piccies.
Cheers,
Paul
