Holy shit!
That's the equivalent of standing at home plate and pointing to the
centerfield wall before the first pitch.
You can't believe how bad I want you guys to smash that one out of the
park, either! =8^)

Yeehaa!  Driving a Chaparral around Riverside will make me a happy man.
Can't wait for this one.

> Motorsims Announces SCCA CAN-AM PC Racing Simulation

> Motorsport Simulations today announced the development of SCCA Can-Am,
> an online and retail boxed PC CD-ROM racing simulation. Launching in
> early 2000, this title is the first to be developed under Motorsims
> long-term partnership with the Sports Car Club of America.

> Motorsims goal is to offer racing enthusiasts an exact simulation of

Is that true? I thought those were WSC cars, or the U.S. equivalent.
The Can-Am cars that I used to watch weren't 'endurance' cars.. :)

So will this be a strictly Glide game or will it allow OpenGL or D3D?
I ask because I have a Voodoo2 right now, but ewould much rather buy a TNT2
Ultra over a Voodoo3 and I don't wanna see my system get hung up on graphics
because the Voodoo2 I have won't cut it.

Sounds like a great sim though, with the weather, hopefully dynamic, it'll blow
the doors off of everything out there if it has what you've said...I'm waiting.
:-)

Yes, I believe the current cars are called WSC cars.  IIRC, they
run in a series called American LeMans, which include endurance
events at Sebring & Daytona.  I believe the SCCA sanctioned races
in this class as well.  Sports car racing seems to have struggled
a great deal over the past few years...:-(

I assume the night racing will be for the current WSC cars.

Same here.  I recall watching Bruce McLaren, Jim Hall & others
flying around Laguna Seca back in the Can-Am days.  The additon
of these retro-glory cars is a *great* idea for this sim.

>Makes you really miss Mark Donahue, huh?

Indeed.

I recall Mark Donahue roaring about in a Camaro in the original
Trans-Am series.  I owned a Shelby Mustang at the time so I
rooted for Parnelli Jones & George Folmmer (sic) in the Fords.

Ah...those were the days. The GT-350 cost me $4,500...:-)

And the crazy thing was you could rent the GT-350 at select Hertz
locations for only a small premium over other sedans.  Imagine going in
today and getting the keys to something like a Saleen Mustang for 50 bucks
a day.
