As a web designer you should look at it the other way, your message is
the ferrari, the browser is the road. If your message only runs on
roads owned by microsoft, you make your soapbox a bit smaller.

(And it probably is hard enough to be in the browser business without
your designstrategy being "copying every little feature (hidden or
not) in Microsofts latest version of IE." It could even been seen as
copyright infringement, you know.)
