I've gotten very little track time this weekend because I've been
attempting to sort out all my various add on tracks for F1 2k2 and it's
mods.  Based on my experience this weekend, I'd like to offer some advice:
Build a Storage Track folder somewhere.  Put the bone stock tracks in it.
Get all the tracks you use, and place them there, without graphic updates
or file modifications.
With all the mods out there, AND especially with all the updated graphic
sets, it is easy to have 4 or 5 versions of the same track.  With a storage
track folder, you can always go back are start over if some track
modification goes bad.  Since most of the .scn files that are used to point
the mods to the tracks locations are tied to the F1 folder, I would suggest
you test all your tracks there and compile a folder of working tracks.  I
had a fully ***non working version of Phillip Island in the f1 folder,
but a nice working finished version in GTR.
When more mods come out, they will be looking for your installed tracks
and updating some of those, so having a backup that you KNOW works can save
a-lot of mod debugging.

Prolly a good idea for GPL, too.  I must have two Gb-worth of mods for
Monaco alone.  Of course, you get to keep all the orig trax on the orig CD,
and there's no way to point to an Original Trax folder w/o messing up the
orig files therein, but it's a great idea for F12Kx.  Thx!

If you burn a cd it's probably a good idea to zip up the track folder
first.  This will avoid all the file attributes being set to read only.
