Restrictor Plates?

Restrictor Plates?

by Mark R Lantig » Mon, 13 Mar 1995 10:32:44

I've seen a few posts with people mentioning restrictor plates and having them
on and off at certain tracks (ie. Talledega).  Is there an option for removing
or adding rstrictor plates that I don't know about, or is it just some racing
humor?

Mark,
It's not documented, but if you go into the
Nascar\tracks\taladega\taladega.txt file with a text editor like Windows
Notepad and look at the 3rd line it says "spwy 1 #### ####". Change the "1" to
a "0" (zero, not the letter o). Save the changes and next time you run
Talladega you will notice a lot more speed. But be prepared to adjust your set
ups. 225MPH is harder to handle than 195!
