PDPI & sound card

Hi all,
finally I could settle the conflict with the PDPI card and the sound
card. But the solution was not on the cheap side. I was told that low
cost no name sound cards often have fixed E/A settings for the gameport
and if that is the case there is no way to run it together with a PDPI
card. So I bought the recommended SB Live Value and everything is fine
now. The PDPI card is great and especially acceleration in GPL is softer
than before, providing a better grip.
Does anybody has experience with GPL and the "PCWorks FourPointSurround"
speaker set? Is it worth the money?

Joachim;
I think you will see that your money was well spent with SB Live! Now on
SB Live Sound & Gpl; Don't spend anymore big mula! You have surround
sound right in the Sb Live card; So just get 2 extra speakers or {as I do} 4
regular speakers {2 woofers} & another giving you 6 speakers if you have
4 regs & 2 woofers.
Now add in the SB Live Setups 2% reverb & then go GPL into! You will
not believe what you here.. Also get the 22mhz stereo sounds & I believe
G. Patrick  has them! You will think you just made a new sim! lol ;0)
Good Luck Thom _j. aka ^Fretts..

My advice is to avoid that system. I tested it along with a few others and
it was horribly weak in the midrange sound, also even with the subwoofer
turned down it was still working when the engine was running max rpm. As the
other response said, simply get any sets of speakers (with subwoofer!) you
like the sound of and select the 4 speaker option. I would also add a little
flanger too. Also highly recommended to get Patricks sounds.

I use some Altec Lansing 45.1 (I think), 2 3" or so cube speakers, and a
sweet subwoofer on a SB AWE64...may not be as good as a Live and 4 speakers,
but it's good enough to rival the home theater system in my house :)
