+$60 US?
What does it add that the soundcard port doesn't?
Thanks,

The main advatage (apart from being jitterfree) is that it takes far less
time to aquire joystick position than on a "legacy" gameport. This means
smooth, precise and responsive control at any framerate (within reason).
Also, aquirering position can be done with other interrupts enabled which is
a must when you're playing online. Otherwise you'd have to delay
communications in order to read your joystick, i.e. your car would pogo down
the track. ;-)).

It's definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Used it.
Pro:
- Better for online racing because there's no need to turn off
interrupts when reading
- Faster reading because the card does that and just returns digital
numbers through DirectX
- Better control because jittering is filtered out
Cons:
- Not easy to get working
- Doesn't work with FF (which requires a MIDI port)
- Doesn't work with digital controllers (i.e. MSFF)
I got an MSFF now. My PDPI is just laying around unfortunately.

I use my Force RS on a serial (soon to be USB) port, and
have my pedals going into a PDPI L4. It's the best of
both worlds!

Mine was a breeze.
Correction - doesn't work with Microsoft FF. It is compatible
with and Serial or USB wheel.
See above.
If you use something other than the pedals that come with
a FF wheel, you can run them through the PDPI card. I do.
Half of controlling the car in GPL is proper throttle and brake
control. The smoothness of control with the PDPI card is well
worth it!
