Problem running Papyrus Cart

by Tim van Dooremal » Tue, 03 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Hi,

Yesterday I tried running Cart (DOS Rendition-version) again after a
few months, but there was a problem. After a few minutes in the game,
the screen locked up, but I was still able to "drive" the car, go back
to the menu or even quit the game (know your menu's...); but the
screen remained the same at all times. I reinstalled the game, but no
cure.... (and yes, I ran the v2dosfix on cart.exe) It ran fine a while
ago. In the mean time though I've added a Voodoo1 card and a SCSI-HDD
(the controller was already there for the CD-ROM).

Some specs of my computer:
- AMD K6 200 (no o/c)
- 32 Mb SDRAM
- Stealth II bios 1.36
- Helios Voodoo1
- SB 64AWE

Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanx in advance!

Tim

If you are using a V2200 based card, there are a batch file or two that
you may need
to get the dma version running.  My advice is to go to www.bjorn3d.com and
under the hints
section are the tips needed to get CART running with a V2k.  also a direct
boot to dos works
for most people while just starting windows and then quiting to dos does
not.
good luck
