NASCAR 3 and Licensing

I do not understand what happened with NASCAR 3...

They always had Ford, Chevy and Pontiac...

Could those car companies be so foolish to demand royalties on free
advertising?

What happened to all the drivers?

I am aware of the Daytona issue but where is Pocono?  I go to that
track and I can't imagine that they wouldn't want to be included in
the best SIM available.  Having gone there for years I have been
impressed by the increasing number of "techies" that attend races...no
doubt an influence of the great racing games.  (Not unlike the
resurgence of Hockey after Sega's NHL Series.)

When I was a kid Hot Wheels and TONKA had started putting Goodyear
"tires" on their toys.  While I went on to care about things like
tires I know many of my friends who did not...they buy Goodyear's
exclusively!!!  The marketing worked!  They probably don't even know
why they buy Goodyear's.

If I was Pontiac (or Dodge) I'd be slipping Papyrus wads of cash to
make my Brand better in the SIM than the others (not unlike FORD in
NASCAR) to build brand allegiance.

Just my thoughts...
