Does anyone do this on a regular basis?  I've visited the fine site
(http://www.racesimcentral.net/) and tried the tips there but am
having problems.  My brother and I try to play (we both have Pentium 200s,
w/64MD ram, 4GB HDD, he has a voodoo card, I have the Viper 330, he 56k
modem, I 33.6).  We connected to a site that we both had Kali reported pings
of less than 200 (~150, actually) and had trouble with "connection not
possible" errors, as well as "available game" blinking in and out, and
getting dropped at the starting grid (play set up for no AI cars).  Are
there any other tips or good sites with settings?  Thanks.

You got to have a below 450 ping to the other player. If there's no garage, hit
alt F4,cause there won't have the race and computer will freezze.goto to server
56(Where to Race),that's where most of the guys are.Server ping is not important
since you connect direct to the other player.Click on the flashing game name and
fast on OK.

While I've been able to race with quite a few people using Kali and F1RS,
the whole netplay (IPX) module of F1RS stinks.  Think of Nascar2 and then
think a little bit worse.

I bought this title specifically to play on the net and must say I was
quite disappointed about the game's playability with Kali.  I've only once
been able to get a three race game going, and that was when the host had a
cable modem.

I think that if you have a cable, you're in good shape.  If you don't,
you're in bad shape.  It is doubtful that you'll be able to get any more
than a two-player race with 400-250 pings.

It is unfortunate that Ubisoft has done such a terrible job with its
netplay.  I can understand Nascar2's weak netplay, since that one was
released some time ago.

Take a look at another decent racing simulator, Monster Truck Madness 2.
Microsoft has done an excellent job-- racing the maximum 8 players is
really no problem.  And I've yet to experience warp, like so often happens
with F1RS and Nascar2.  Even PCR (Microsoft's Cart)-- though overall a poor
simulator when compared to F1RS-- has an excellent netplay feature that
actually works.

The thing is that the game (F1RS) wasn't made for internet play. UbiSoft
couldn't get the FIA license for playing on-line. I heard FIA is
terrified of on-line racing.

And rightly so!  Imagine if the whole world experienced racing as it
should be.  Real battles for position, real passing and re-taking.  Then
the glmaour of the F1 parade would fade....

Don`t even try Kali.Much better way is  MS dial-up server 1.2.
Only 2 player game is possible, but ping is about 60-100 same
country(Finland).Game is fast over kali too(50 fbs voodoo1), but lag clones
are terrible.Dial-up server 1.2 and F1RS are formulafans heaven.
