According to Psygnosis.com F1 will release on the 5th May or 28th May.

It will also support almost all 3D video cards including the 3Dfx and
Rendition cards.

They did not mention if there is a***pit view !!!!!!!

One of the head designers emailed me after I requested there be a
"in-cockpit"
feature, and I asked me if I would rather wait an extra 8 months or some
ungodly length
of time just to implement a "cockpit" view. I gave 'im the 'ole David
Gary reply
I didnt request intricate dials or gauges so I dont know what the big
deal is for
these guys just to put a "frame" of the sidewalls and (non-movable)
steering wheel
on the interface. This isnt hard to do and would also help the framerate
so if
it took them 8 months only god knows how long it took them to code it.
Its a sweet looking
"game", but from what psygnosis claimed, its _not_ meant to be a
"simulator". I still
will purchase it however if they incorporate a "in-cockpit" view. If not
I know it
would only collect dust on my shelf and therefore would purchase
sometin' else.
I mean, comon, weather "game" OR "sim" you dont see Jimmy Vasser***
onto the
nose of his Indycar to get a better view or Micheal Shumacher standing
atop the cowling
of his F1 trying to see a better line!

Put us IN the car Psygnosis!!!!

What's the best Voodoo based card?  I've just got a new PC with a Matrox
Millenium and want to add a 3D card to the setup - the Voodoo's the best,
but which card?  I've heard a new cheaper card has just come out based on
the Voodoo, any good?

I read that it uses Renditions Redline drivers or whatever its called.  I have
the Intense 3D card from Intergraph and was wondering if the current drivers
for the card support Redline and does it work under Dos or Win95.

F1 Psygnosis:

R:

From what I've seen there is no true***pit. They have this above nose view
but the center of gravity is to high for a true feel.

IMO it's very sad, since the addition of a true***pit view would go so far.
If they only knew...

You know I've been arguing this same point in the 3Dfx news group, and
they (some) just don't get it over there.  I tried to explain how a
***pit is required for it to be a real sim.  What bugs me, (and I
posted this to) was in the Psygnosis's press release, they make claims
about realism, and "most complete racing experience outside a real
track."

Ditto.  I emailed them with this questions and they confirmed by return
email that there will be no***pit view.  Without that, as far as I'm
concerned, it's a game, not a sim, and I'm not interested.
