I rewired it, because I wanted to keep the original wires intact. In
the past I had exchanged the original (blue) 100K ohm potentiemeters
with Spectrol 357 50K ones, since I kept replacing the originals.
To use the Spectrols with the Plasma Lite, I had to use 3 wires, and
the original Hyper only used 2 wires for each pot. So that's why I
decided to rewire. I don't know if you can use the original pots with
the Plasma Lite using 2 wires.
I do have the 12 button wheel, but I didn't connect them to the
Plasma Lite yet. The problem isn't the Plasma, but I haven't figured
out yet how the wiring of these buttons work. I do recall it's some
sort of 4 in 4 in 4 system, where the combination of active wires
indicates which button is pressed, but I'm not sure about that.
Something for the winter, but that's an excuse you can't use. :-)
The documentation of the Plasma Lite is good, the electrical part
is easy to understand. (It's made by a 1 guy company, and Leo is
very helpfull)
No, not yet. ATM I still place a monitor on the steering box when I
play, but when I switch to a large screen in front of the Hyper (or a
projector), then I might add some goodies like a revmeter.
I'm impressed by the mechanical quality of the Hyper, but less
impressed about the electrical part, so that's why I didn't go the
Hyper USB route. And since I live In Europe, sending stuff to them was
too risky IMO.
The downside of the Plasma Lite is that you can't use the Hyper
profiler software anymore, but the software of the Plasma Lite is
powerfull enough to satisfy your needs.
Cheers!
