I'm an idiot, I admit it.  As anyone with a T2 can attest, the wheel
console is rather awkward to carry or place somewhere.  Like a fool, I
put the wheel in place at the edge of my desk and prepared to clamp it
down when I was summoned by someone down the hall.  When I returned,
guess what?  The whole console was on the floor, with the steering
wheel itself about 6" away from the rest of the console.  If I had
taken an extra second to clamp it down before walking away, this never
would have happened, but I'm a chump, and it was my mistake.  I tried
to Crazy Glue the thing together, no dice.  I disassembled the whole
console, but still could not figure out a way to remove the broken
shaft.  Finally, I called Thrustmaster and spoke to a guy named Dave
in the service department, and before I could finish my first sentence
he said "Let me guess," and filled in the rest of my story.  He then
stunned me by saying "we're just going to send you a new wheel
console" and that's it.

All I have to do is snip the plug from the end of the cable and send
it back along with the pink invoice he sends me with the replacement
wheel housing.  Just for the record, my product is not under warranty.
I think this is an incredible show of support, and I don't know what
others in this group have experienced but these guys will find me
first in line when the force-feedback wheel is available later this
year.

Just wanted to share this with everyone.

Cheers,

Pooch

Hear, hear, I'll agree with that.

It would be great If all other companies had such great customer support.
