GPL Shaking driver′s arms Thrustmaster Grand Prix 1 (

Ive used To play  GPL with a Microsoft Sidewinder Pro  and now  In  buyed a
Thrustmasteer Wheel "Grand Prix 1.
Im very dissapointed with it because the Drivers Arms with the Wheel  are
shaking and vibrating all the time. In the calibration-Screen I could see
that the informations coming from my wheel are not constant, there are ups
and downs all the time.
After seeing that I tried other analog-Joysticks with the same result.
Is this normal? What can I do?
With the Digital Sidewinder Pro the drivers arms  do not shake and the
movements are smooth.
Thanks for your help

From what i know the "shaking" is because the analogue signals from the
wheel is "converted" to digital by the CPU. (if you are using an analouge
game-card or soundcard joy-port).
i had the exat same problem with my T2 until i bought a PDPI L4 digital
game-card and stopped using my SB joystick port for the wheel.
The PDPI L4 ensures that the controls are smooth as a babys bottom and
unloads the CPU, because it "converts" the signals instead of the CPU - thus
giving a big improvement in framerate.

Infact... the PDPI L4 is soo good that I can normally tell weither a driver
is using a PDPI or a standard joystick port, just by looking at a replay of
his/hers driving.. :)

All the best,
Edwin Solheim

I'm surprised is shaky already if its a new wheel. The pots do get dirty
quite quickly and need to be sprayed with electrical contact cleaner or
similar. But first try Thrustmasters Pro Panel utility (from their web
site) - perhaps it will help.

Also, check and make sure you have the "poll with interupts" box
unchecked in the advanced box of the games controller applet.  This may
cure you shakey arms.
