I pick one that has Live = Y, clients greater then 0/ and status R-xx
(which I assume means Race lap xx) and I get a grass like screen and
it the top it says "no race invalide"...
What am I doing wrong?

Usually that means the server isn't in a practice/warmup/race session.

So then what does LIVE Y, clients 2/ status R-1 mean, if not 2 guys are on
lap 1 of a race and the NR server is broadcasting?

Without being 100% sure, I'd imagine the could either mean they're on
lap one of a race, or the server is doing pre-race prep.
