Gpl Replay Utility?

by Andrew Cunningha » Thu, 06 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Hi

Is there any sort of utility for playing Gpl replays without actually
having the game installed?  It would be nice to be able to look at a
few replays during my luch hour at work, without installing the full
game on my work PC.

Thanks

Andy

there is none yet. and due to the fact that you would have to rebuild
half of the GPL-engine for this task, I doubt that there will ever be
such a program. btw: does anybody know if there has ever been such a
utility for any game?

That question has been asked many times in the last 4+ years with the
NASCAR racing and then later with GPL.  If ever such an application was
made, that would open up a brand new market for the racing leagues :-)

Just imagine having the replay on a web page.  The user would log on,
and click the race he wanted to watch.  that would be the first step in
opening up the spectator arena :)  Unfortunately, to date, there is no such
application to watch any replays with out first installing the racing Sim
and then loading up the replay :-(
