My new GF3 has a TV-out, and so my thoughts naturally go to playing N4
on my 27" TV.  I've never tried anything like this before, is it
worthwhile?  How about on say a 43" digital projection TV?

The dongle for the vid card has an RCA-type plug for the video out,
but my sorry TV has only a RF/coax type jack.  I assume there are
adapters that will make this work?

TIA,

yea they make adapters but if you tv has no rca or svideo jacks on it then
it is more than likely so old that the resolution will not make the grade
in n4 to look good.

The problem with this is that the resolution of a TV is incredibly low.  If
you're talking about a projector, then chances are it has a VGA input anyway
and will do at least 800x600.  It'd be an OK picture though - good enough to
race on!

Do you mean it only has an aerial input?  If so, then you'll need an RF
modulator which takes RCA/SCART input and 'transmits' it to the aerial input
of the TV.  The frequency is usually selectable via a pot on the back.  The
problem with the aerial input is again quality.  You'd certainly notice the
difference with a SCART input on your TV.

Do you have a VCR hooked up to the TV? a VCR should have a rca video in then
just use the AV channel on the VCR.

I've got my TNT2Ultra graphics card connected, via S-Video, to my 28" TV.  I
only use the computer for games, and it *rocks*.

Yes, I am not getting the best resolution possible (I use 640x480) because
TVs are so poor, but who cares?  It's *big*!!!

I wish I had one of those... :-)

Erky!  It must be an old TV!  You need an RF modulator.

If you are sneaky, you can connect it all up via your VCR.

Yeah, my buddy "rescued" an old broken projector from where he used to
work.  One of the prisms was detached.  He was able to get it working
again and uses it for games now.  He didn't do a perfect job aligning
the prism, so the picture is pretty bad for text, but for full motion
graphics, the size compensates a lot for that.  Very cool.

I noticed that RCA makes a line of digital projection TVs that have a
VGA input and support 800 x 600.  The 52" costs about 2 grand.

I'll probably scrounge an RF modulator and give it a whirl on my 27"
just for the heck of it.

Tried the TV out.  Size didn't compensate for generally crappy looking
graphics.  DVD was no major improvement over VCR.  Can only assume RF
modulator really degrades signal.

Maybe Santa will bring me a plasma flat panel...  I've been really
good this year - I PROMISE!

Must be. DVD on my system really makes for a much better picture
(transferred as RGB over a SCART cable).
