To all,
I went into a store the other day and saw them playing a computer sim
using a Big Screen TV as the monitor. Does anyone know what you need
to do this?? Thanks for any replys.

I was wondering this myself. I've seen the new ads on TV for panasonic's
new 36" svga monitor. I know that the conversion kits to use TVs as
computer monitors used to cost as much as TVs.

What you need for this is a pc to tv adapter (also called vga to tv
adapters). They come in very different
quality/price ranges. Most differences are resolution and number of
colors. Ask if you can see the output before you buy it, because there
with some of them the image quality is very poor, and with others almost
perfect. These adapters can be found in a lot of different computer
stores. Also i think some (more expensive) 3dfx cards have tv output.

Tbe greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did
not
exist.
you just have to get a card that has tv out on it.
one off the top of my head is the ati all-in-wonder card. there are lots
of others too.
Steve
Don't forget that the resolution and clarity is not as good as that
obtained on a good-quality monitor.

I recently bought the Viper 330 which has a TV out built in...
The worst thing about it is you can EITHER run the monitor
OR the TV output... not both... and, I couldn't get the CPR
demo to work on the TV... (I didn't spend too much time
with it however...) The TV output only runs in [the equivalent
of] 640x480 as well...
(What's the resolution of TV? 300x200? something like that...
keep that in mind when you are deciding if it's worth it to
spend the extra $$ for a TV output...)

I have found the PC to TV output of the ATI boasrds very good. OK, the
resolution is lower than 1024, but you can get more than 256 colours
if the game your running permits this.
I run GPII and Rally Championship on my 26" and it works extremely
well. The bigger screen certainly increases the sense of speed in RC.

Yep - the Canopus Pure 3D has this feature. Not sure of the price
though - any Brits want to enlighten me (my brother wants a 3Dfx
sometime soon).
I have an ATI all in wonder graphic card, and I can watch TV on my monitor with
crystal clear resolution. If any of you think MMX
is good, wait till you see what this card can do. How about full screen videos
displayed with no hint of flicker or blotchy patches.
It is simply awesome. If anyone is interested, I will send you an avi sample
to illustrate my point
