Having terrible warp in both VROC and multiplayer; pings looks fine. Anyone
get this combo to work?

If pings are low, what about quality and skew which are the Q and S meters in game?

Could it be the QoS feature of WinXP blocking bandwidth for the OS?

Here's a few tips.

Make sure the XP personal firewall is disabled.
Also shut down unused services (or disable them).
Anti-Virus (disable while on VROC).

No problems here. I have a Linksys router (BEFSR41) connected to a Westell ADSL modem. A
while back the router would quit every now and then, but since doing a hard reset and
reloading firmware 1.42.7 all has been well. My GPL PC doesn't use the XP firewall, and I
set up fixed size virtual memory (1G RAM, 2G virtual). Check to see what processes are
running (Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up task manager, click the Processes tab), maybe you will
see something running that is periodically grabbing CPU time.

I assume you get reasonable frame rates in GPL offline. Do you see the hard disk light
flashing when the warps occur? If you type in the chat window, does that seem to have
quick response? Are there other PC's on the same DSL connection, generating extra packet
traffic? Can you switch to viewing another car and does that also warp? Bring up the three
monitor windows in the upper right and see how that looks. (it's been a long time - is it
Alt-Q?)

Hopefully you find some clues and narrow down the culprit.

Keith.

I have the same router and OS and it is good for me too. Have you tried to
put yourself in the DMZ?
