SCGT and N3 plus GE Force = No Benefit

I have a PIII-450 (sometimes overclocked to 600) with an ASUS Ge Force
6800 Deluxe running 3.88, 5.08 and 5.13 drivers (I have tried each of
these).

What I have found is that Nascar 3 works a bit better with 5.13 (as
does SCGT I think) but NFS Porsche Unlimited works best on 5.08.

Having said that, my old Voodoo2 8 meg card worked better in Nascar 3
and at least as well in SCGT so am I doing something wrong here? Should
I see a big framerate improvement going from V2 to GE Force in SCGT and
Nascar 3?

Any help is appreciated.

Scott,

I also have a geforce and voodoo 2 video card combination, but with a P-600.
I'd also say that the voodoo2 graphics are much better than the geforce D3D
graphics in scgt and N3.  Frame rates are always about 30fps with either card
in N3.  I also felt ( never checked it) that geforce provided faster FPS in
scgt, ,so I'd guess your system will also be max'ed with either card, and not
reflect much fps difference.

Sadly my FPS in Nascar 3 in 1024 x 768 in the first half lap at
Talladega (all graphics on, 20 opponents ahead, 5 behind) are around 15
with the GE Force. SCGT is similar (although it drops down as low as 10
or 12 in the first corner slow down).

  Something isn't right.  I don't have the geforce, I have never owned
an Nvidia product, but the Gee 'should' be able to produce much higher
numbers than that with the d3d option.  Is the D3d portion of N3 really
that bad?  or are you using the software only mode...that is the only
explanation I can think of.
