Will the MS Sidewinder wheel work under win95?

I noticed the system requirements for the Microsoft SideWinder
Precision Racing Wheel (non FF) call for win98, but can anyone tell me
if the wheel will also work under win95?

Thanks,
Bob

Not if it is a USB device.

The Windows 95 USB Extensions (Win95 OSR2.1) are useless.  I don't know of
any manufacturers that support them, or their devices under Win95 any
longer.  Everyone gave up on it :)

It's a waste of time.  Truly.  MS released Win95 with the USB Suppliment,
which was build OSR2.1.  It was also in OSR2.5, but the only other
difference was the inclusion of IE4 standard.

Windows 95 is simply not stable for USB use and every manufacturer I know of
no longer officially supports their USB devices under Win95.

Does the same hold true for Win98?  I recall someone mentioning
something similar over at the Act Labs forums about Win98 not being
fully USB compliant as well, even with all the latest service packs
and patches applied, and that they will only provide support for their
USB products under Win98SE or later.
