From Bottom to Top in the TSW 500 ... Tks Don Wilshe

I've read a great deal lately about cheats, aids and crazy setups. Let me relate what happened during the Latest TSW 500 Qualifying using N2002.
My qualifying speeds were in the 183.3 range and I was struggling. I spoke with Don who gave me a hand ful of tips, none of which had anything to do with my setup. His advice had to do with the driving line (tight against the wall), use of steering assistance so I could stick on the wall, my pots, steering linearty, and grounding my wheel. I did everything he suggested (except grounding the wheel) and wah la, 183.7's & 8's. At that point I went from about 120 to the top 25 and stood on my 1st round qual speed. Afterward I grounded the wheel and went to the high 183.9's.
The ironic part is I never changed my setup, never !!!! .
I think a lot of people get hung up on the way they feel things should be. Believe me, this sim is no different than the real deal, the top competitors take every advantage available to them, and then some. If you don't believe that ask yourself, why was the 20 car impounded this weekend or why are the electronics are in plain view, ah, were teams using traction control ?. You tell me.
Like Todd Parrott said a few years back after dominating Daytona, quit crying and get the tool box out. A lot of people on this newsgroup would do well to take the same advice.

If you cant think of out the box.  Do the opposite of others just to see what happens.  You will
never get faster.

No offense meant, but I feel the use of steering asst is a cheat.  For those guys who are driving on thier own ability and didn't make it, I am sure they would feel the same way.  As for the crazy setup stuff, I guess if it's in the setup options so be it.  I am hopeful that the whole issue will be put to bed soon with a true *** patch.  Then leagues that want to run it can and the rest can run whatever they want, problem solved.

Anyway please explain how to "ground" the wheel.

Your brain dead KK.. I said I used them in N2002.  Because it was suppose to be slower. Didnt want to
scare myself on the high speed tracks.   But than I tried them on Nascar 2003 and it ran good.. but
when the likes of you siggested it was wrong.. i turned off the aides and went faster.. DW
I have said this about 15 times.. do you ever read my post.. lol.

I didn't call anyone a cheater, I said that I believe it's a cheat.  That is
for each person to decide.  Like I said, I am hopeful that the leagues that
choose to enforce a *** mode, now can.  I am not trying to stir any
pot.

I see where Chad is coming from.  Not sure if I would use the work
"cheat" because it *is* allowed in the game.  I'm surprised, if
300-400 people have been offended, that there are so many people using
driving aids, though.  But then I was also surprised at how few use
the***pit view.  As far as I'm concerned, people can do what they
want within the confines of the game but *I* would take no pride in a
good result that was gained through the use of driving aids.  I want
things to be, as far as possible, all my own work.  If that means I
never win a race, so be it.

Ground the wheel?!? How? Why? By what physics principle does it improve your speed? Just curious, after all those years of online racing, that's the first time I hear that!
