Is the GTR mod from Simbin no longer available? I get an error on its
download page. Thanks.

It was posted not too long ago to alt.binaries.simulators.autos so you can
check if it's still on your isp's server. If not, post here again and I'll
repost it for you. There are some other servers around that do carry it. I
think http://www.bhmotorsports.com  has it.

I put it back up in the binararies.  At the moment Confused is quiet so
you should be able to find it without too much clutter.  I use Xnews to
view the newsgroups and that combines all the separate files in one header.
This is important because the GTR 2002 mod is sliced into 700+ parts.  If
you use Outlook express it will show (default mode that is) only 300 at a
time and it won't condense the headers.  The v1.2 patch is there as well.

Thanks for reposting this file. However, I'm a at a loss at how to download
it when it is in that many pieces. I've been looking for an option to
combine them into one header but haven't found it, if it exists. How do I go
about downloading the separate posts and combine them into one file for the
mod and one for the patch. Many thanks for any help.

It depends on your newsreader.  For Outlook Express you dload the
individual files and then highlight them all, then choose combine and
decode.  For xnews you just have to click on the file and press the decode
button(F4)
Other newsreaders may also have different methods.

Dave,

Which news-server provider are you using?  - must be an expensive one to
offer that much binary retention....

Consider "Grabit".

Much simpler than messing with Outlook Express.

HTH.

The truth is out there. You just have to look in the right places and ask
the right questions.
