Nascar Heat-Graphics Removal

I want to remove the 'gear change' information when I use the in-car view in
Nascar Heat. I found how to dispense with the speed/rpm box on the bottom
left by changing the 'options' file but I can't find the line I have to
alter for the 'gear' information on the bottom right.

Any help appreciated.
