NFSSE wheel calibration

I know this was answered previously, but I lost it. How can you
overcome the weird joystick calibration in NFS SE under WIN95? NFS
wouldn't let me press a button on my TM GP1 unless I slightly steer to
the left just to the middle of the 'gearbox'.

Please help! Erich.
