I was reading some old posts and found this statement, what do you guys
think?

True or false?
It can't be true unless GPL is doing it because your actual real shifter
won't do it. That was part of a thread that also contained this
statement.............

Actually, it doesn't matter what type of shifter you use because whether
it's buttons or a sequential ( tm ) it's just microswitches telling it
when to shift.
So unless GPL is telling the engine to blip after the shift then it's
simply a blip due to not matchng revs perfectly. hmmmm, food for
thought.

Yes, it is true.  Just watch a replay from in-car in slow motion.

ehhhm..i have learned to blip to match the revs, so why would this blip
be due to not matching them?
as an aside the alfa selespeed, and the ferrariF1 box do some very nice
blipping for you too, it made it almost like driving a
computergame...hmmmmm....maybe that is the way to go, not make the sims
realistic, but the cars more unrealistic!!!!

That's my point, you are doing it, not GPL.

True on both counts, GPL passes through neutral when changing gears and
blips the throttle.

Ok, I'll try, view a replay from the in-car view.  Advance it a frame
at a time.  Watch the shifter.  On every shift you can see it pause in
neutral for 5-12 frames or so.  And on downshifts you can see the rev
counter rise during the pause in neutral.
